Eula GBYE NELSON – Mrs. Nelson is a retired nurse of over 30 years. She’s married with two adult children, seven grand, and one great grand. Mrs. Nelson is a dedicated worker in her church and volunteers in the community when her health allows. Working with children is one of Mrs. Nelson’s passions and she loves using her hands to craft. In 2004, Mrs. Nelson was diagnosed with kidney cancer and underwent surgery. Home Dialysis soon began for the remaining kidney. In the latter part of 2004, Mrs. Nelson’s health worsened and she began Dialysis three times a week and continues to do so today.
She is currently on the inactive kidney transplant waiting list and needs a kidney. However, in order to receive her much needed donor kidney, she must have her name placed on the active kidney transplant waiting list.
She now fundraises to meet the active waiting list pre-requisite of financial verification concerning her ability to purchase the required medications when the transplant occurs.
