Our vision is to reach out to the community by empowering each person with knowledge, understanding and wisdom of one's ability to be in a state of complete health wholeness (i.e. spirit, mind, body, and social well-being). Our goal is to be a pinnacle national organization and to ensure that every person is given sufficient support, guidance, knowledge and information necessary to take action and improve their condition, as well as expand the horizons through financial assistance for medically-associated needs to those living with medical challenges so they can sustain their quality of life. "When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” Audre Lorde
FOUNDERS ARTHUR “DONNELL” & DEBORAH BRANDON “DONNDE”
DonnDe co-founded The Second Wind For Life Initiative, Inc. (“SWFLI”) in 2010, realizing that there are times, in most of our lives, when the wind suddenly blows and simply shifts things out of order, and challenges are left to overcome.
How does one get through those challenges and on to the next? Well, one gathers them self, think about their past life races, set their goal, call their village, and go! It is our passion to help individuals in the community sustain their balance during their race by pulling together our villages (people helping people). With our help, their vision of the goal line seems achievable and then their Second Wind kicks in. Now, they are ready to finish the race with a different approach.
The Second Wind For Life Initiative was born out of our passion to give back, in particular to individuals in the community facing medical-financial hardships while living with chronic diseases.
Second Wind For Life is a Texas nonprofit organization that assists individuals in the community with sustaining their quality of life by promoting healthy lifestyles awareness and prevention of major medical diseases.
The clients of Second Wind for Life are asked to have a hands-on involvement in achieving their second wind. We ask that they seek education regarding their disease, and be involved in the creative brainstorming of how to sustain their quality of life.
